Randi Levinson

Marriage and family therapist

certified clinical sexologist

I have been a Marriage and Family Therapist and Certified Clinical Sexologist for 16 years.

I love holistic psychology and neuroscience. I have taken deep dives both personally and professionally to understand my own universe and those of my clients. Self-reflection and understanding our inner worlds can help us gain a greater sense of clarity and direction in our lives, by helping us to identify our values, strengths, meaning and purpose. It can also help us develop a greater sense of self-awareness and self-acceptance, which can lead to greater confidence, resilience and a fulfilling harmonious life.

Relationships and intimacy are everything to me and I refuse to have a mediocre marriage. I understand the complexities of marriage, because I’m married with children. My marriage is my laboratory so that I can learn how to deepen my partnership, and help others deepen theirs. This is my true calling in life.

I am direct and straight forward and I don’t beat around the bush. However, my sensitivity and compassionate side will always be present. I am an active member of our session.

I consider myself to be beyond lucky to have studied with the best therapists in the world. I have been trained by Esther Perel, author of Mating in Captivity and The State of Affairs. She has given me invaluable guidance in my couples work.

I have also been trained by the wonderful, Terry Real. He has shown me that egalitarianism in romantic relationships is of upmost importance for couples with power struggles (which show up in most of our relationships). Finally, I was trained and certified in Clinical Sexology by Dr. Patti Britton in Los Angeles, California, where I learned from the leading Sexologists and Sex Therapists in the field.

I have an incredibly high tolerance for conflict. I won’t be afraid of yours. I’ve seen a lot over the years, and I am confident that I can hold space for your conflicts and teach you new, more productive ways to fight. Yes, you will still fight occasionally after working with me… but hopefully you will fight effectively so the outcome of the fight is deeper intimacy and connection; not distance and disdain.

There will be times in our sessions where it will feel good to laugh, this stuff can get heavy and draining; laughing together brings connection and levity when appropriate.
